Boll Campus Center Construction

University Liggett School expanded its campus footprint by more than 30,200 square feet with the addition of the new John and Marlene Boll Campus Center.
The largest single contribution in school history has helped University Liggett School expand its campus with a new gymnasium and additional event space. The Boll Campus Center opened in September 2018 large part to a $4.25 million gift from the John A. and Marlene L. Boll Foundation. Many other donors also contributed to help bring the campus center vision to life.
The center, visible from Cook Road, is a hub of activity at University Liggett School, with community gathering space for students and alumni events. The building features a 14,500 square foot gymnasium complete with a collegiate floor, a fitness center and weight room, student locker rooms, storage space and eight basketball hoops. The building’s signature feature – the glass curtain wall – features more than 3,400 square feet of glass facing Cook Road.
Other features include:
  • Card access control and Camera Surveillance
  • All new IT infrastructure, which will support the entire campus, including a back-up generator, which can power the entire campus in the event of a power outage
  • Fiber lines that will connect to the main campus and McCann Ice Arena
  • Batting cage
  • Tennis courts
  • Volleyball courts
  • Cameras to record and broadcast University Liggett School sporting events
“The Boll Campus Center is our next great step forward. Thanks to the generous contribution from the Boll family, our new campus center provides our school with more top-rate athletic and event space,” said Head of School Bart Bronk. “Never before have we had a space like this, and we look forward to inspiring generations of future students right here.”
Additional support for the center was raised through the Sure Foundations capital campaign, which supports University Liggett School’s campus and operations, while also building the endowment fund.

Birmingham-based architecture firm Landry Cekauskas designed the Boll Campus Center.
