OUR FINANCIAL AID PHILOSOPHY

We recognize that the full cost of an independent education is beyond the means of many outstanding students and families. The need-based financial aid program at Liggett is designed to bridge the gap between what a family can afford and the cost of an independent education. This makes Liggett affordable to many qualified students who could not otherwise join our school community. As a result, our students represent a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds, creating a student body diverse in thought and experience all on a journey of discovery together.

The financial aid committee determines financial aid awards for admitted students based on a family’s demonstrated financial need for grades K – 12. Financial aid is not available for Prekindergarten programs. Liggett Merit Scholarships are also available to qualifying candidates applying for the 9th grade only before the deadline.

The 2019-20 Liggett Merit Scholarship deadline is January 18, 2019.

HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

Liggett uses a nationally standardized system for financial aid offered by School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS). The application is open. Each family must complete the following:
  1. Create an account on the SSS website: www.sssbynais.org
  2. Complete a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS)*
  3. Submit a copy of 2017 1040’s with all completed schedules
* If you need assistance in completing your PFS, please call SSS directly at 800.344.8328. They are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Please note: There is a fee payable to School and Student Services to apply for Financial Aid.
