ULS's field hockey program is one of the strongest in the state, consistently competing at the highest level. With a tradition of excellence and a commitment to teamwork, our players embrace both hard work and a love for the game. Coaches and athletes take pride in fostering a positive, tight-knit team culture—one that feels like family. As one of the first schools in Michigan to establish a field hockey team, ULS has a rich history in the sport. The varsity team remains a dominant force, winning state championships in 2020, 2018, and 1996. The team competes in the Central Division of the Catholic High School League (CHSL) and also participates in the broader field hockey community through the Michigan Field Hockey Association (MFHA).

Amanda Amine Coach Amanda Amine began her coaching journey in 2010 and started coaching field hockey in 2012. She joined University Liggett School as the head field hockey coach in 2018. A graduate of Regina High School, Coach Amine went on to earn a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management from the University of Detroit Mercy. In addition to her role as the head field hockey coach, Coach Amine also contributes to the basketball program and serves as the head varsity girls' lacrosse coach. Known as "a player's coach," she prides herself on building strong, personal connections with her athletes, valuing their growth both on and off the field. Under her leadership, Coach Amine guided the team to a state championship victory in 2020 and played a key role as an assistant coach in the team's 2018 title win. Her dedication to her athletes and passion for the game continue to make a lasting impact on the program. |
