The University Liggett School’s football program strives for excellence both on and off the field. Our program’s culture is built on the “Knight Code,” in which each student-athlete commits to building a team-first mentality and environment. The football program strongly encourages its players to compete in multiple sports and co-curricular activities while at ULS. The ULS football team competes in Division 7 of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) and is a member of the Catholic High School League - Intersectional #2.

Andre Rison With a storied career both on and off the field, Coach Andre Rison is renowned for his expertise in developing young talent and fostering a competitive team environment. Rison began his coaching career in 2006 as an assistant coach at Beecher High School in Flint and in 2010 was named head coach for Flint Northwestern High School. During the 2023–2024 school year, he served as the offensive coordinator for ULS. Before transitioning into coaching, Rison had a successful career as a professional football player, most notably as a wide receiver in the NFL. He played for several teams, including the Atlanta Falcons and the Green Bay Packers, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections and establishing himself as a formidable athlete. As the head coach at ULS, Rison brings his extensive knowledge of the game, strategic acumen, and passion for mentoring players. His coaching philosophy emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and the importance of personal growth, both as athletes and individuals. Under his leadership, ULS aims to cultivate a winning culture while developing the next generation of football talent. |
